Nudes...

Back in my spot trying to call in spring by wearing some light colours. Coming back from a sunny place I'm definitely in the mood to wear some bright clothes... which doesn't quite match with the weather in London though. It has gotten a little better, so I thought I'll give it a try. Really can't wait for spring and to start wearing all those "nudes"! Not that I don't like wearing black and grey, I love it, but it's time for a change. I have a feeling that after I wore this outfit, winter is gonna hit us hard soon, lol. If so, it's not my fault! To this outfit I have to add that I'm really not a big fan of white clothes, especially skirts, pants and shoes (unless they're sneakers), but I decided to give this white knitted midi skirt a try and as soon as it arrived and tried it on, I just loved it! Knitwear is just so comfy and is a must have for the cold days. You can wrap yourself up and be warm and still look fabulous! This outfit is suitable for basically any type of occasion like drinks or dinner, or even to work if you wear a normal top that doesn't show skin on your stomach instead of a crop top.
I combined this ribbed knit midi skirt with a basic tank top in a light rose colour matching to the bag. To stay in the colour scheme I threw on my light beige coat matching with the heels. It is difficult style white in winter, either you stick to the light shades or you go all black & white. Obviously in summer you have much more possibilities, but for now, I'll just take it as it comes. (As if I have a choice, LOL)
Find the outfit details below & I"ll keep you posted!

Be inspired!

Detox time!

Happy new year everyone!

I know I'm starting a little late and we're already half way through January but as you all know I was on holidays having the best time ever! Now I'm back in London trying to get back to my old life and the best way to start the year is a detox. I'm sure a lot of you guys must feel bloated and maybe indulged a little too much over the festive season.. Now we're all in the same boat with the consequences wanting to burn all those extra pounds, lol. Jumping on the bandwagon of starting the gym again properly, I was thinking I can support my motivation with a little detox.
Let me tell you a little about the ingredients and my experience so far...

Slendertoxtea is made of 100% organic ingredients, which promises to increase energy, metabolism, help to 'beat the bloat' and aid weight loss.

DAYTOX Ingredients:
Hawthorn Grain, Red Bean, Sterling Bean, Radish Leaf, Camellia Seed, Camellia Flower, Green Tea, Fennel Seeds.

SLEEPTOX Ingredients:
Valerian Root, Large Hawthorn, Red Bean, Sterling Bean, Green Tea, Radish Leaf, Camellia Seed, Fennel Seeds, Camellia Flower.

This is a 14 day detox and I've been on Slendertoxtea for 4 days now and I already feel a difference. It takes away the feeling of being bloated and gives you a lot of energy, I haven't lost much weight though, yet. I have not followed their meal plan though, I have my own meal plan, which is in my opinion strict enough, so it might be a different story if you follow their meal plan. They advise to brew it in cold or warm water, not too hot, and since I don't drink my tea too hot, it was perfect for me and I let it brew for 2 minutes, since it is quite strong. I read some reviews and some people were complaining about cramps and that they have to go to the toilet for often. I personally don't feel any cramps but going to the toilet more often is something I can relate to. But I guess that's normal when you do a detox, it has been like that with all the detox teas I've tried so far, and also it might be annoying but healthy to go to the toilet more often because you get rid of bacteria.

My idea of dieting is not to completely change my habits of (already) healthy eating because of a product I want to try, I just adapt it to my lifestyle. Don't just completely restrict yourself not to eat chocolate or whatever you feel like too much because that's how you trigger cravings. So I have my cheat day once a week where I can have a cheat meal of whatever I feel like. (Just don't take the chance and exaggerate, LOL)

I hope this helped and motivated you to jump on that bandwagon if you haven't done so yet.

Chapter 365 of 365!

I've been on holidays but I haven't forgotten about you guys! Today I'm posting my last #OOTD for this year and it brings up a melancholic mood. This year so many things happened in my life and all in all 2015 was a very good year.. I got my first job after graduating last year from my masters, I even got a promotion after some months of proving myself. For the job I had to move to a new city, London is THE city for fashion lovers like me, so it wasn't really a hard decision, but moving there alone without knowing anyone, or just a couple of people, was a big step and I have made so many good friends during this year that I wouldn't wanna miss this city anymore.
Besides that I have finally launched my blog. It has been on my mind for so long but I never really had the confidence to launch it until I got to the point where i just thought "You know what, I just do what I wanna do and if someone doesn't like it, I don't care!" You gotta do in life what you wanna do in order to be happy and if you just stick to what society dictates, it won't get you anywhere. This year I have grown more as a woman and managed to focus only on myself and my goals, I have developed a certain attitude and confidence, which I'm really proud of. These are just some of the big but important events and it has been an amazing year full of change and love.
I'm not gonna go into then new year with all the new year's resolutions that I won't be able to stick to, I just want to be a better woman than last year, always striving for something better and concentrating on myself and on my future.

Let me come the outfit now before getting all emotional, lol. As you guys can see this is not my usual location in London, I'm in Zimbabwe at the moment having the best time. It was about time to get away from busy London for a bit. Today I am wearing an all black outfit! Remember: Black is always a good idea! My peplum leather jacket from the new Zara collection fits my shape perfectly and underlines my curves. A leather jacket is a must in every closet, it is flexible and to wear with nearly everything. If you still didn't manage to get one: It's about time girl! I combined it with a strappy bralet that matches with my new skirt handmade by my dear friend Tinashe. (Go check her out her blog and designs at HerMajeStyle HERE) About the heels... I don't have to tell you more about my Zara heels obsession, do I? LOL!

I wish everyone a happy new year and many more blessings for 2016!

Ready for holidays!

This year everything is different for me regarding Christmas time. Usually I buy comfy and warm new jumpers, some boots, a scarf and gloves, but this time I'm buying summer clothes. I'm just choosing outfits to take on holidays and this is one of my favourites! This is the first time I'm getting away over Christmas to a sunny place and I'm beyond excited! Getting away from this terrible weather is a good opportunity to get some energy for the new year. The sun always has a great influence in my mood so I'll try get a much as possible of that.

I have picked a simple rosé coloured, ribbed midi skirt, which is very stretchy and very comfortable and combined it with a white simple tank top, which I knotted in the front and converted it into a crop top. I got these strappy heels recently in my current favourite colour khaki and thought it might match if I throw on the khaki bomber jacket, and yes, colours matching great! Some sunnies on and the day can begin!

Holiday Packing Essentials!

Packing Guide:
Next stops --> UAE & Zimbabwe

It's holiday season and some of you guys will be travelling to see their families or just go on holidays, so there's for sure a suitcase that needs to be packed! In my case, I will be going to Dubai and Harare over Christmas and New Years, so I'm finally escaping the cold and rainy London weather, yay!
When I pack, I always pack a variety of clothes, different styles and essentials that can be combined, because you never know where you will end up and which occasions might occur. But here are just the essentials that HAVE TO BE in your suitcase, no matter which country you are going to and no matter what the weather is like:

1. Pick the right bag! In my case is the backpack a good idea since I'll be moving around a lot.

2. Pick two different types of shoes: Comfortable & Chic, so that you're prepared for every occasion.

3. Take your favourite skincare! Coconut oil is very flexible and can be used for almost everything. I use it for my body and on my face as it moisturises very well, as lip balm and also for my hair.

4. Headphones and your favourite playlist! Music makes the world look much brighter!

5. A sleeping mask for long journeys!

6. Sunnies are a must!

7. A good book! I always feel like reading when travelling and I like having an actual book in my hand instead of reading on my iPad.

What's on your Christmas Wishlist this year?

Soon it's Christmas and I'm slowly getting into the spirit yet I will not spend a traditional Christmas at home with a huge Christmas tree, dinner with my family and sitting in front of the fireplace because it's snowing outside. I still love the Christmas lights and Christmas markets and will still enjoy it a little before I take of into the sun. Even though I'll be away, my wish list is loooong, lol. I'm pretty sure we all have that secret wish list for things we've been wanting throughout the year, maybe you didn't have the money to buy them, you had other priorities or you just thought they'll be nice Christmas gifts to pass on to family and friends. There are loads of things people want to buy, but there are these certain things you can't get out of your mind and just HAVE TO HAVE them, lol. I know you girls feel me on that! The items I have put together for you guys are not all on my Christmas wish list because I got some of them, but they are the MUST-HAVES this year.
Hope you're enjoying this post and let me know what's on your wish list!

Shades of grey & Positive Vibes

I'm not quite sure what it is, but this seasons makes me wear grey a lot, lol. I probably need a holiday to get to enjoy some colourful clothes in the sun - and I'll be going soon! But for now I'm trying to cope with this cold UK weather (which is not easy, btw). You never know what to wear until you actually leave the house. When I stand on the balcony I always feel like it's not that cold but as soon as I step out and feel the cold wind, I rather would want to go back and change, which I usually can't do or else I'll be late for work, haha. But yeah I'm sure you know what I mean. Grey is a lot of people's favourite this season and so is mine, grey all day everyday, and it fits with everything!

Grey can also have an impact on your mood in these grey winter days. People wanna stay in the house, are demotivated and just can't be bothered to do anything. Some people even suffer from the typical winter blues. A lot of people suffer from it and it's just a sign that people don't like dark and negative things. “It’s thought that SAD sufferers are affected by shorter daylight hours in the winter. They produce higher melatonin, causing lethargy and symptoms of depression.” It's not a nice thing but I always try to be positive, no matter which season it is. We can't let this have an impact on our life though. We chose to live in a country like this with long winter days, it's dark when you leave the house in the morning and it's dark when you get back home. I know it sounds rough but we have to deal with it, even better: Embrace it! Winter has soooo many advantages and beautiful sides. Beautiful sundowns, snow and fresh air, the beautiful Christmas time, the lights decorated everywhere in the streets and great winter sales ;).. Even the little things like looking forward to wear your comfy winter clothes. Appreciate the little things and stay positive!
Rise and shine, get up and make every day your day!
