Chapter 365 of 365!

I've been on holidays but I haven't forgotten about you guys! Today I'm posting my last #OOTD for this year and it brings up a melancholic mood. This year so many things happened in my life and all in all 2015 was a very good year.. I got my first job after graduating last year from my masters, I even got a promotion after some months of proving myself. For the job I had to move to a new city, London is THE city for fashion lovers like me, so it wasn't really a hard decision, but moving there alone without knowing anyone, or just a couple of people, was a big step and I have made so many good friends during this year that I wouldn't wanna miss this city anymore.
Besides that I have finally launched my blog. It has been on my mind for so long but I never really had the confidence to launch it until I got to the point where i just thought "You know what, I just do what I wanna do and if someone doesn't like it, I don't care!" You gotta do in life what you wanna do in order to be happy and if you just stick to what society dictates, it won't get you anywhere. This year I have grown more as a woman and managed to focus only on myself and my goals, I have developed a certain attitude and confidence, which I'm really proud of. These are just some of the big but important events and it has been an amazing year full of change and love.
I'm not gonna go into then new year with all the new year's resolutions that I won't be able to stick to, I just want to be a better woman than last year, always striving for something better and concentrating on myself and on my future.

Let me come the outfit now before getting all emotional, lol. As you guys can see this is not my usual location in London, I'm in Zimbabwe at the moment having the best time. It was about time to get away from busy London for a bit. Today I am wearing an all black outfit! Remember: Black is always a good idea! My peplum leather jacket from the new Zara collection fits my shape perfectly and underlines my curves. A leather jacket is a must in every closet, it is flexible and to wear with nearly everything. If you still didn't manage to get one: It's about time girl! I combined it with a strappy bralet that matches with my new skirt handmade by my dear friend Tinashe. (Go check her out her blog and designs at HerMajeStyle HERE) About the heels... I don't have to tell you more about my Zara heels obsession, do I? LOL!

I wish everyone a happy new year and many more blessings for 2016!

Ready for holidays!

This year everything is different for me regarding Christmas time. Usually I buy comfy and warm new jumpers, some boots, a scarf and gloves, but this time I'm buying summer clothes. I'm just choosing outfits to take on holidays and this is one of my favourites! This is the first time I'm getting away over Christmas to a sunny place and I'm beyond excited! Getting away from this terrible weather is a good opportunity to get some energy for the new year. The sun always has a great influence in my mood so I'll try get a much as possible of that.

I have picked a simple rosé coloured, ribbed midi skirt, which is very stretchy and very comfortable and combined it with a white simple tank top, which I knotted in the front and converted it into a crop top. I got these strappy heels recently in my current favourite colour khaki and thought it might match if I throw on the khaki bomber jacket, and yes, colours matching great! Some sunnies on and the day can begin!

Holiday Packing Essentials!

Packing Guide:
Next stops --> UAE & Zimbabwe

It's holiday season and some of you guys will be travelling to see their families or just go on holidays, so there's for sure a suitcase that needs to be packed! In my case, I will be going to Dubai and Harare over Christmas and New Years, so I'm finally escaping the cold and rainy London weather, yay!
When I pack, I always pack a variety of clothes, different styles and essentials that can be combined, because you never know where you will end up and which occasions might occur. But here are just the essentials that HAVE TO BE in your suitcase, no matter which country you are going to and no matter what the weather is like:

1. Pick the right bag! In my case is the backpack a good idea since I'll be moving around a lot.

2. Pick two different types of shoes: Comfortable & Chic, so that you're prepared for every occasion.

3. Take your favourite skincare! Coconut oil is very flexible and can be used for almost everything. I use it for my body and on my face as it moisturises very well, as lip balm and also for my hair.

4. Headphones and your favourite playlist! Music makes the world look much brighter!

5. A sleeping mask for long journeys!

6. Sunnies are a must!

7. A good book! I always feel like reading when travelling and I like having an actual book in my hand instead of reading on my iPad.

What's on your Christmas Wishlist this year?

Soon it's Christmas and I'm slowly getting into the spirit yet I will not spend a traditional Christmas at home with a huge Christmas tree, dinner with my family and sitting in front of the fireplace because it's snowing outside. I still love the Christmas lights and Christmas markets and will still enjoy it a little before I take of into the sun. Even though I'll be away, my wish list is loooong, lol. I'm pretty sure we all have that secret wish list for things we've been wanting throughout the year, maybe you didn't have the money to buy them, you had other priorities or you just thought they'll be nice Christmas gifts to pass on to family and friends. There are loads of things people want to buy, but there are these certain things you can't get out of your mind and just HAVE TO HAVE them, lol. I know you girls feel me on that! The items I have put together for you guys are not all on my Christmas wish list because I got some of them, but they are the MUST-HAVES this year.
Hope you're enjoying this post and let me know what's on your wish list!

Shades of grey & Positive Vibes

I'm not quite sure what it is, but this seasons makes me wear grey a lot, lol. I probably need a holiday to get to enjoy some colourful clothes in the sun - and I'll be going soon! But for now I'm trying to cope with this cold UK weather (which is not easy, btw). You never know what to wear until you actually leave the house. When I stand on the balcony I always feel like it's not that cold but as soon as I step out and feel the cold wind, I rather would want to go back and change, which I usually can't do or else I'll be late for work, haha. But yeah I'm sure you know what I mean. Grey is a lot of people's favourite this season and so is mine, grey all day everyday, and it fits with everything!

Grey can also have an impact on your mood in these grey winter days. People wanna stay in the house, are demotivated and just can't be bothered to do anything. Some people even suffer from the typical winter blues. A lot of people suffer from it and it's just a sign that people don't like dark and negative things. “It’s thought that SAD sufferers are affected by shorter daylight hours in the winter. They produce higher melatonin, causing lethargy and symptoms of depression.” It's not a nice thing but I always try to be positive, no matter which season it is. We can't let this have an impact on our life though. We chose to live in a country like this with long winter days, it's dark when you leave the house in the morning and it's dark when you get back home. I know it sounds rough but we have to deal with it, even better: Embrace it! Winter has soooo many advantages and beautiful sides. Beautiful sundowns, snow and fresh air, the beautiful Christmas time, the lights decorated everywhere in the streets and great winter sales ;).. Even the little things like looking forward to wear your comfy winter clothes. Appreciate the little things and stay positive!
Rise and shine, get up and make every day your day!

It's Knitwear Season!

Yes my lovely fashionistas, it's that time of the year where we can take out our comfy and fluffy sweaters that are hidden in the back of our wardrobes. I love wearing skirts and why should I have to compromise on that only because it's winter? I don't have to! So I got myself a co-ord outfit, a knitted midi skirt and a matching knitted jumper and paired it with my favourite fringe clutch and strappy heels! This outfit is easy to transform from a day to night outfit. The way I'm wearing it on the picture is how I would wear it out for drinks or dinner with the girls. But you can also wear this outfit to work, for example. You can "uncrop " the jumper since it's actually longer, put on some tights and ankle boots and you're ready for work! You could also put on the skirt and a crop top for the club, or a normal tank top with a blazer for a change... or the jumper with a pair of jeans and heels. There are so many possibilities!
A lot of outfits are more flexible than we think because we only see it styled a certain way on the model when we buy it but making the best out of one outfit will make it more enjoyable. Just try to think outside the box and you can save a lot of money ;)

Tomorrow is Black Friday, enjoy the shopping spree!!!!!

Fall Vibes Only!

I am embracing fall until the very end! I do like winter but there are so many possibilities during fall without being all wrapped up in cozy warm clothes and UGG boots. I know the weather invites to the comfy clothes, cozy knitwear, soft scarves and shades of grey BUT these clothes are usually not suitable to wear to work! At least not a my workplace. Sometimes I really can't be bothered to dress nicely but as we know, you always want what you can't have or do, so I make sure that I wear the comfy and casual stuff at the weekend at least!
I'm very much into earthy tones this season, so I chose a sleeveless camel-coloured mesh detail dress from Missguided and paired it with my favourite khaki-coloured waterfall coat. (Details below) The dress made out of Rayon and Nylon is quite thick and keeps you warm enough during these fall days. As a finish I put on my favourite suede heels from Dune London and the Moschino shoulder bag. I also try go for the more comfortable but chic dresses and skirts with some stretch especially when sitting in the office all day and this dress is more than comfortable.
Please winter take your time so we can enjoy some more of this beautiful season!

Date night! What am I gonna wear?

Date night is always special! It can be a date with your boo or  your just a girls night but the same issue will arise: What am I gonna wear?

It's that season where you never know what to wear, it's either gonna be too cold, too warm or just perfect but then you were not prepared for the rainstorm that suddenly appeared. (Especially in London you should always be prepared for that, lol) So planning my outfit usually starts with where you are going and how to get there. Is it a restaurant, a club or a bar or maybe a house party...? Is it far to walk or can I take the taxi so that I can wear my extra high heels? Is my date dressing up and is it a special occasion for the date night? All these questions need to be answered before you even think about an outfit.

Having figured everything out it is about what you feel comfortable in and what looks the nicest. Being a woman I know better than that. Usually these two points don't mix, either it's comfortable or really nice.

I'm showing you one of my favourite date night outfits. It's simple and elegant! As you guys might have noticed, burgundy is one of my favourite colours and there's a lot of it in the shops now. I chose to wear this very comfortable and stretchy  midi tube dress. It is easy to match with everything black and grey to keep it simple. If you want to go all out and spice it up with different colours, you can also wear it with khaki or a dark turquoise. I matched the dress with my grey/black faux fur jacket to highlight the outfit with something special and to keep myself warm. I love faux fur! It is just so soft and comfortable and I like mixing different fabrics. You almost can't get around it this season! Nearly ready to step out, I just put on some black suede heels and a small bag and I'm ready for date night!

I know it sounds simple now, but we all know that we can't avoid these questions that needs an answer before making a decision about or outfit, lol! So guilty of this!

5 Ways to Spend your Sunday

I personally think Sunday mornings are SO important! This is the first time in the whole week where you can sleep in and don't have to set an alarm because of work or uni all week, you can just wake up and chill in bed as long as you want to. I know there is Saturday as well, but I feel like on a Saturday you still wanna get up and make use of the day since you don't have to go to work. So my Saturday's are for errands, grocery shopping, gym, cleaning & laundry.. and all the stuff you don't have time for during the week.
Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I start with a nice bowl of greek yogurt, chia seeds, some coconut flakes and fruit with a little agave juice on top & a cup of tea. Everyone keeps on asking me about Chia seeds and what benefits they have. Let me explain: Chia is a species of flowering plant in the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to central and southern Mexico and Guatemala and has several health benefits such as their massive amount of nutrients with very few calories. They give you a powerful nutritional punch and are one of the superfoods today, so one tablespoon is enough if you mix it with greek yogurt, if not, 2-4 tablespoons are fine and I mix them with soya milk. It depends on your diet how much you eat.
At the moment I'm still trying out Bootea and it has been great so far! It keeps me energised during the day and the night tea helps me to sleep early. You guys know how it is, you wanna sleep early but then you wanna finish the episode you're watching or just can't get off your phone or you just don't wanna sleep because you know Monday is waiting for you, lol.

So here are 5 ways to spend your Sunday, relaxed and productive:

YOGA!

Having a fresh start with a little relaxation and freeing your mind by doing some stretches and yoga. Yoga will have a good impact on how you start your day. Your soul will be free and you only concentrate on yourself and your body.

SUNDAY IS BEAUTY DAY!

Sunday is a no make-up day for me and I'm sure you all use this day to get ready for a new week. That means hair up and face mask on! I've been using the Blue Corn Mask, the Tea Tree Mask and the Honey & Oat mask for the second time and I still love them. These 3 cover all types of problems you might have or that might occur during the year considering different seasons and weather change. The Blue Corn Mask is good for any impurities, we all know what happens after a night out drinking alcohol or after a cheat day, lol. It removes all impurities, dead skin and excess oil and it is a great cleanser. The Tea Tree Mask is a cooling mask and makes your skin soft and tight. It helps remove impurities and absorbs excess oil. The Honey & Oat mask is for me personally a must for cold days since my skin tends to dry out quickly. It moisturises and conditions the skin. Bodyshop did a good job on those 3!
Besides the masks I recently started trying our the REN Eye-creme and . I was really surprised. I have been looking for a good eye-creme for so long and the two in combination do a really good job on my skin. It looks moisturised, fresh and clear and feels really soft.I can only recommend them.

BE PRODUCTIVE!

Don't let a day pass without being a little productive. Do what you love and take time for what you're passionate about. I usually spend my Sunday writing blogposts and being a little creative. I write down to do lists and do some brainstorming for the blog. The Mate Fit Tea helps me concentrate and boosts energy.

GET LOST IN A GOOD BOOK!

Lala Anthony's first book convinced me so much that I just had to get the second one. I like how honest she writes about her life and gives great advice for relationships and career! The Social Media MBA is more work related for me since I'm a Communications Manager, which involves Social Media Marketing and PR, it is a good guide for me. So ditch the dull reads on the weekend and lose yourself in a gripping book. I've read that reading has a lot of health benefits such as improving brain function and reducing stress levels, which is a perfect preparation for the new week.

NETFLIX & CHILL

The term Netflix & Chill was a little abused in my opinion, lol. When I say Netflix & Chill, what I really mean is watching Netflix and chill on my bed. Nothing more or less, lol. I've been recently watching documentaries about fashion and I can only recommend "Dior and I" and Vogues masterpiece "The September Issue". But I know everyone has their fav series these days, I don't even remember how it used to be without all them when I was younger and wasn't interested in none of that. Time flies! My favourite series are The Good Wife, House of DVF, Being Mary Jane and Scandal... Oh and don't let me forget the oh-so-hyped Empire! Besides that, I also watch Love and Hip Hop for some drama, lol, Rosewood and Grey's Anatomy.
Of course my favourite snack can't be left out when watching movies/series - Proper Corn Sweet Coconut & Vanilla is DELICIOUS! Can't get enough of it! Also I'm struggling to drink enough water, so I always try have a full bottle by my side. And for some more detox I got a Naked green smoothie. Most people don't like green smoothies too much but I can promise, this one makes you feel healthy & energised and tastes really nice!

Let me know what you do on a Sunday. Looking forward to your comments!
