Bloggers Hangout #BLFW

I've had a great time at the Bloggers Hangout Bloggers London Fashion Week event. I went with my blogger girls Sade, Rachel & Chido. Big shout out to these lovely ladies! Go check out their blogs.
The Bloggers Hangout is probably the best event to get started as a blogger and to make your first connections. This event was hosted by great brands such as Weleda, Sensational, LAB2, Curl, Ufit, Amie etc. and of course we've been gifted, YAY! My favourite items from the gifting lounge are the LAB2 pro on a powder trip brush and the sponge applicator pro call me Mr. Perfect. When I unpacked these items I immediately noticed how soft they both were. The powder brush is made with FiberLuxe Technology designs with the softest and highest quality filaments. I love powder brushes and after using it the first days it even qualified to take it on my trip to Germany. I was really impressed by how it buffs powder evenly across the face and achieves a flawless finish. I'm always a little sceptical with powder brushes because some just take on too much powder and cover your face in a thick layer. I can recommend this on and it'll probably now be my every day powder brush.
You can get this brush at Superdrug, currently on sale for £8.99. (HERE)

I've always wanted a sponge applicator in that shape to get into the little corners by my eyes and it's just very handy to use. Blending with sponges works best for me rather than with brushes because I feel like the "dabbing" is more accurate. But I guess everyone's different and everyone prefers something else. I just can't get enough of them! Unfortunately I couldn't find where to purchase it, not even on their website, so you might just have to contact them. Check out their website here!
I hope you guys liked my quick review and until next time!

L O N D O N

This month it marks one year since I moved to London and it has been a great experience so far. Not knowing what I will get myself into looking for a job in this big city, I just randomly applied because I didn't wanna go back to Germany after I finished my masters in Cardiff. I didn't really think further about it until I actually got a job and it was time to move. I got a little nervous and asked myself what I was even thinking, lol. I really didn't know what to expect from London and my job and it turned out as a great experience. The first months I felt like a tiny fish in a huge fish tank, there were so many new impressions to take in and I had difficulties to understand their accents, but these are all things I've gotten used to very quickly. My first impression was that London is really busy and LOUD! During the week there's noise everywhere and to be honest, I still haven't gotten used to it. Cars, people on the street, the tube or DLR, construction works and you hear sirens of Police cars or the ambulance everywhere. It gets more quiet at night obviously but living in central London is just something you'll have to get used to. I got the hang of everything quite quickly and got into a routine. Also, it is very expensive here. And I'm not generalising because literally everything is expensive! The rent, groceries, shopping.. the whole London lifestyle! I wouldn't recommend living here without a well paid job because you need to be able to afford to live here and to really enjoy it. There is so much to explore though, London is HUGE and there's always something new to do.
Anyway, London is full of opportunities, you just have to make use of them. It's kinda like New York, if you wanna be crazy, you can be crazy, if you wanna try something new, do it, no one will judge you! There's always gonna be someone who will like it. I also noticed that people here are very open-minded. They speak to you even though you don't know them and are very helpful. And they loveeee their drinking culture! After-work-drinks is a must and not only once in a while, every week, sometimes 2 or 3 times per week. Eating out is very popular as well, people love buying their lunch every day instead of preparing it and the go to restaurants a lot!
What I like the most about London is, that there are a lot of cultures in one place. You get to know so many people of different nations and they all have a different story about their experience in London. I actually have only met one person yet that was born and raised in London because so many people come from outside London or as I said from different countries. Another thing that caught my attention is, that London is bubbling over with interracial couples and this is a big plus for me! It's a beautiful thing to see how different cultures merge together and I missed seeing that in Germany.
This journey has taught me a lot about people, a new culture and work experience so far and London also made me grow as a person and helped me to take the next step to follow my dreams.
I don't know how long I will stay in this city but I'm definitely not moving anytime soon!
Let me quickly come to my outfit. If you follow me on Instagram, you should've noticed by now that I'm currently obsessed with grey and pink. Guilty! LOL. I'm so into the colours these days, can't help it! Unfortunately this lace-up bodysuit is not suitable for my everyday look at work but I LOVE wearing it anytime time when I'm off work or at the weekend to meet friends or for a dinner date. Paired it with one of my stretchy midi skirts and my fav sneakers at the moment. I almost wear them every day and they're extremely comfortable. I don't think I have ever worn more comfortable shoes than these Reebok Classics. So that I won't get too cold in this not so warm weather, I threw on my Zara coat, which I purchased in Dublin. I love buying clothes in different cities or countries, it always brings back memories when wearing them. Find the details below, lovelies!

National Cereal Day!

The 7th of March is National Cereal Day - Until today, I didn't even know such thing exists, lol. The classic morning meal was based on an American diet in the 1800s when it was a poor one packed with protein, booze and caffeine. It was even considered a remedy back then. So much to a little bit of history today... Coming to the cereals of the future: Have you ever heard of Tiger nuts? Well, me neither and to be honest, I was suspicious when I heard about it! But it seems like Tiger nuts are making a comeback as superfood and we all try to be healthy these days and especially it's only March and the I'm not ready to give up on those new years resolutions. They're not actually nuts but tubers of a grass-like plant called yellow nutsedge. Their sweet taste with a hint of coconut make them enjoyable and they have a lot of Vitamin C & E, are high in iron, magnesium and potassium. Sounds like a great breakfast for someone working out on a regular basis.

The Bloggers Hangout gave me the chance to try out many different products and the Raw Original Crispies from RAW GORILLA, which contain Tiger nuts, are one of my favourites. Even though I was a little disappointed when I opened it. The inside is about half as big as the box itself and I expected it to be a full box. Nonetheless, tasted it in two different options: One with greek yogurt, blueberries and mango and the other with unsweetened almond milk. As I don't like overly sweet food most of the time, the cereals have a very nice natural sweet taste and I love the coconut chips in there! Besides that, it contains spouted Buckwheat, dried Figs, Coconut blossom nectar, Lucuma powder, Cacao butter, Cashews, Maca Powder, Vanilla powder, sea salt and black pepper. Best thing is, it is 100% organic! So we wouldn't have to worry about any non-healthy ingredients - no artificial colouring, refined sugar free, gluten-free, vegan, paleo and grain free. Couldn't be better! I know people don't like trying new things and rather stick to their habits, but I always feels like I can always find something better. And I'll be convinced immediately when I hear the word coconut, lol.
You should definitely give it a try!

All Pinked Up For LFWEnd 2016

First of all, Happy New Month Everybody! Can't believe it's already march, how did February go by so quick.. At least we can call in winter because it's SPRING TIME!!!! Time to celebrate the brighter colours. Hopefully the weather acts accordingly, lol.
Last week was a busy week for me, first I went to the Bloggers hangout and then it was London Fashion Weekend and the Professional Beauty Event. This post is only about my experience at the London Fashion Weekend. Before I get into details about the event, I will quickly tell you what I was wearing and why I chose this outfit and colour.
I was an up & down deciding on an outfit, I ordered clothes, decided on another colour/material/shoes, returned clothes and finally completed my outfit Friday night and Saturday was the event, lol. Usually I'm not as indecisive when it comes to an outfit but looking though magazines, New York Fashion Week videos and discovering new trends made the decision not really easy. I'm not someone who usually wears pink clothes, that pink top was the only pink item I had in my closet to be honest, but looking at the revival of this colour totally made me fall in love with it! Let's take a moment and celebrate the 1920s pleated skirts, YAY! They're back, in all colours and lengths: mini, midi, midaxi, maxi, grey, pink, baby blue, silver and so on...  I personally love midi skirts, so I can wear them to every occasion and especially to work. I combined my pleated skirt with a shiny bomber jacket to to loosen the girly outfit to a more casual/girly outfit. That's why I also chose to carry my pink backpack instead of a clutch. As a finish, it was still a MUST to wear heels!

Coming to the designer catwalk show, Nicholas Kirkwood presented his new collection and it was full of colour and extravagant styles! I would've bought every single item! The shoe designer has been award Accessories Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards and I can only underline that he deserved it! Below there's a little clip for you live from the catwalk show.

This time my friend and I really invested in a ticket to get the full LFWEnd experience and got access to a talk of the designer and to the Luxe Lounge for some champagne and networking. We spent quite some time there to speak about the show, had a few glasses and some snacks, took pictures and then went to see the rest of the designer clothes and cosmetics. A whole 3 floors of fashion, style and cosmetics! It was so much to look at.
I saw some amazing pieces and was inspired by how they were styled... Can't wait for the next season and new collections in stores.

Browsing though all the clothes, I just had to buy one of the designer pieces and I found a grey star sign sweater at Paper, which I will show you styled in a full outfit in my next post, but I just couldn't resist buying it since I've been wanting a sweater like that. Mission accomplished :)
I also got a little something at Maybelline. They had a great offer, two products for £10, so I had to take the chance and try out something new. My dear friend Tina recommended the Lip Pencil Colour Drama "Keep It Classy". I wore it yesterday and it lasted longer than expected. I never tried lip pencils before so I was surprised how well they stay on and I love dark pink or berry coloured lips. I also bought a brow crayon called "Brow Drama Pomade Crayon" in dark brown. I always have problems with my eyebrows and I know I'll never be satisfied, lol, so I'm trying out different ways of doing my brows by buying different products to see which one I like best and which one is the easiest to apply. So hopefully this crayon will upgrade my eyebrow game.
The Maybelline booth itself was very pretty decorated as usual and I loved their mirrored camera, where we took some pics. They're up on my Instagram.

Coming to the GOODIE BAG! YAY!
... or not so much. To be honest, I was a little disappointed of the goodie bag. The one I got last year was filed with more interesting products and as I purchased a Luxe ticket, I thought the goodie bag would have higher quality products. But anyways, I still liked the stuff!
There were 3 products that I especially liked such as the Garnier Anti Ageing Miracle Skin Cream. I always like trying out new products and I already like Garnier's body lotion, so why not try the moisturiser.
Opening the bag, the first thing I saw was the Pukka Supreme Matcha Green Tea: YAAASSSSS! This is my favourite green tea and my everyday companion at work. It is blended with three fairly-traded whole leaf greens: Chinese Sencha, Indian Oothu and Vietnamese Suoi Gang. It gives me a lot of energy and is 100% organic.
The last one is Urban Fruit's Cheeky Cherries. So far I have only tried mango slices from this brand but cherries are always a good idea and they taste deliciously juicy. They are perfect as a snack in between meals as they are low in calories and have no added sugars or preservatives. And also they are 1 of your 5 a day! So you basically can't do anything wrong with them. They have many different other fruits if you're keen for a new snack.

I hope you guys liked my story about LFWEnd and stay tuned for my next post!
