Bloggers Summer Hangout

Summer is really playing us here in the UK.. I mean, all the rain and temperatures not raising above 20 degrees, that's not what I consider summer. Don't get me wrong, I love to be in London, but this need to change. Anyways, the Bloggers Summer Hangout was very summery, besides the rain. I got to speak to some very interesting brands and got loads of goodie bags with products to try out. My favourite brand and product this time was the Pink Parcel, which is a monthly subscription box for all the ladies out their and their monthly visit, lol. When I got this box the first time, I was impressed of how thoughtful it was put together.. Tampons, nail polish, a face mask to prevent spots, chocolate and crackers for the typical cravings, etc... just about everything you need for that time of the month. In my head I was like "Awww someone really cares about our monthlies" LOL. It's really worth a try! The second product that I really like is the T-tox matcha powder. If you know me, then you know I barely go a day without my matcha latte, so this powder is just what I need to make my own. Can't wait to try it and will definitely write a review!
Thanks to all the brands for gifting me, I really enjoyed meeting you all!

Coming to my outfit... I tried to make it as topic related as possible but the weather just didn't want me wearing one of my flower dresses.. Oh well! I'm currently loving blue, so I decided to put a blue-themed outfit together. I put 3 different shades of blue together and matched it with silver accessories. If you've been following my blog, you know I have a thing for pleated skirts, this is probably the 4th one in my collection, hihi,  but I just love the sky blue! It has the perfect lengths to wear it to church, work or anywhere else and the skater fit paired with the stretchy fabric, makes it very comfortable. I matched it with a comfortable ribbed tie-up shirt and my blue faux leather jacket. Paired with a little cross-body bag and sandals - British summer, I'm ready!

#BloggersBall

How often do you have an occasion where you get to wear a long ball dress if you're friends are not getting married? Exactly - Not quite often! So I took the opportunity and got myself a long ball dress. I was looking for one for some time as the event was announced quite early but the one I chose came only out a couple of days before the event and I had to order it next day delivery to get it to my house in time, lol. But you guys know the struggle of finding the perfect dress for an event browsing through online shops for dayssss...
So I finally found this dress on Asos but it's by Boohoo. I know what you're thinking now and I was exactly thinking the same when I saw it was from Boohoo and on top of that a petite dress.. I was actually very impressed to see a dress like this from Boohoo, so I definitely had to give it a try. I've ordered two sizes just to make sure but when they arrived, they were way to big, so I had to order a much smaller size last minute but the fact that it was a petite ball dress made me very happy as there not too many out here for shorties like me. My tailor already knows my name, if you know what I'm saying. The dress is amazing as I love pleats (I know this is not a secret anymore, lol) This pastel colour is perfect for summer and the strapped sides make the dress special. The layered chiffon, the side split and the deep plunge made me feel like a princess and the dress was a real eye-catcher! I paired it with rose gold heels as well as rose gold jewellery and a translucent clutch bag, to not take away the attention from the dress.
I put up some pictures for you including a close up to see the strapped sides clearly but they're not the best quality as they were taken with my phone, sorry guys. A link to buy what I'm wearing is added below.

The bloggers ball was a great event to liaise with brands for potential cooperations and meet fellow bloggers and at this point I would like to say thank you to Scarlett for the invitation and for having us there. The event took place at DSTRKT in central London, which is a great location for a themed event like this. There were loads of photo opportunities, games, giveaways, some delicious snacks and wine and I was enjoying to see everyone network. From the products that I was given, my two favourites are probably the chin up mask, even though I haven't tried it yet, but if it's as good as it promises, I'll be amazed! It's supposed to let your double chin disappear - will definitely let you guys know how it is. Another favourite is the personalised calendar that I got! If you guys haven't noticed yet, I'm obsessed with diaries, calendars and to do lists, so this is a perfect gift! I'm also very excited about the egg protein mask from Vatika. I've heard so many good things about egg protein masks, it's about time for me to try it.
Thanks to all the brands for gifting me, I'm loving all the products and will try them as soon as I can!

3 Ways to Wear a Shirt!

The weather forecast for our little weekend trip wasn't as good as we were hoping so packing the suitcase was much more difficult. It had to be comfy and warm and I really wanted to take my latest purchase with me - the batik shirt. Seeing this shirt took me way back to the 90's, where I remember wearing batik dresses as a child. So it kinda took me back to my childhood and I really wanted to get it. The tradition of making batik is originated in many different countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Philippines and also Nigeria, even though the most popular batik is made in Indonesia, to be specific in the island of Java. Batik prints back then were much more colourful and over the many years it has developed in many different types. I chose a more decent type of batik print but will see what's next as I'm always up for some colour!
I packed the shirt with pants and the dress for the second day. But do you know the feeling when you wake up in the morning and just don't feel like wearing pants? Yes, that's how I felt! So I kinda had to make it happen to still be able to wear my new shirt, lol. I ended up just knotting it up on top of the dress and it matched! To really celebrate the 90's on that day, I put on my biker leather jacket and the silver sneakers. Made me feel like back in the days, lol!
I have to admit, I'm not a shirt type of person, at all! I do like them and I think mostly they look good on other people, lol. But when I decided to get it, I was happy about it because it actually did look good. And honestly, there are so many different way of wearing a shirt and not only the usual button-up way. I like playing around with my clothes and I'm sharing 3 of my ideas with you guys now.
Here are 3 ways how you can wear a shirt:
Leave some buttons open on the top and knot it up to your waist!

Wear it off shoulder! (Knotted up or down)

Wear it down and open as a substitute for a jacket!

I don't have a picture of when I'm just wearing it down but I'm sure you guys can picture what I mean by that. I hope this helped and now it's time to go get yourself a shirt!

Happy Shopping!

#OOTD Vogue 100

I'm always thrilled to have an occasion to wear my new clothes to, so I took the opportunity and wore my new ribbed maxi dress. Seeing me in white is a highlight itself because I rarely wear a full white outfit, I guess I'm just too clumsy for white and either rub my make up in it or just spill something on it. I can proudly say, I made it through the day without doing any of that, lol. I paired this comfy off-shoulder dress simply with my silver Reebok sneakers, my grey wool coat and my newest addition in my bag collection - a silver bag pack! A white dress like this is basically wearable with every colour since white is neutral, I just paired it with grey and silver because I'm currently obsesses with these colours but on the way I will show you more combinations. When it gets a little warmer you can also wear it without a coat and instead throw a denim jacket on with some Ballerina flats... or just leave your jacket at home and put some sandals on and roll up the sleeves. There's a lot you can do with this dress, it is flexible and good to combine with a lot of fabrics. And whoever said dresses can't be worn with trainers, you're wrong mate!
See below where I got these pieces from!
I hope you liked this post and stay tuned for the Vogue 100 exhibition review!

#BloggersNightIn

A couple weeks back I co-hosted the bloggers sleepover party and we had a blast!!! We were 9 ladies coming together for the sole purpose to HAVE FUN! It is great how a passion for something can join like-minded people together. We had loads of fun, wine, pizza, Krispy Kreme Donuts and great discussions about all the typical girls' topics like relationships, beauty, our favourite Youtubers, LAHH (Love and Hip Hop) and we had a good laugh playing "Never have I ever"! Perfect game to get to know each other.. on all levels, haha!
We spent the night at this beautiful home in London Kensington/Chelsea with a large living room and enough space so everyone was able to sleep comfortably in a bed. The interior was just my type of a town house, cute and comfortable! I wish I could just move in there, sigh! Anyways, not everyone met before, so it was great to have a chat with new people and get to know them.

We all received some amazing goodie bags with products and I couldn't be more excited to get to try them all. I will write a lot of reviews in the next time, so stay tuned! My goodie bag included a pack of Proper Popcorn in my favourite flavour sweet coconut & vanilla, if you're a coconut lover - this is a must, Berrywhite sponsored us with loads of drinks - loving the pomegranate & blueberry flavour, the Popkakery provided us with some delicious popcakes and brownies and finally Aduna sent us some Baobab to try. If you know me, then you know I'm always a fan of trying out new healthy stuff and I didn't know Baobab before but it is a natural & organic african superfruit, which supports immune function, energy release and skin health. I'm a new fan now and since it supports your health, give it a try! I like it best when putting it in my breakfast on top of greek yogurt with some blueberries.

As you might have noticed, we definitely had enough food there, lol. Timeless Truth kindly sent us facial sheet beauty masks, which are amazing! My skin felt soft and moisturised after using it. If you have dry or combination skin, I can really recommend it.
My absolute favourite product was the Pink Parcel, which you'll see on one of my next review-blogpost, so I won't spoil it for you guys now.
Shoutout to all the lovely ladies that attended the #BloggersNightIn!

Stay tuned for upcoming posts, Lovelies!

HOW TO WEAR PLEATS - PART TWO

As you all can see, grey\silvery clothes has me feeling all sparkly, lol. This is part 3 of the "how to wear pleat"-series, so I would like to explain to you why it's ok to wear sneakers with pleated skirts or skirts in general. Who even said you can't wear sneakers with skirts? This really is old news! They're comfy and look stylish and can turn every chic outfit into a casual/chic outfit. Important is, that the sneakers are not too sporty looking and match colours of the outfit. Pleated skirts are easy to dress up and down and in this case I just thought I would go for the casual look. I've ordered this skirt thinking it was just plain grey and when it arrived I noticed, that it has little sparkles in it. At first I didn't really like that because I just expected something else, but I got quickly used to it and started loving the skirt. Sparkles are not that bad after all! I paired the skirt with a cropped mesh jumper to keep up the casual. In my opinion the highlight of the outfit is not the skirt as it was meant to be, non, I think it's the cute backpack!!! Obviously in silver again to match the outfit... This silver thing got me like a fever, lol. Anyways, if you decide to wear a pleated skirt with sneakers and all over on the casual line, try stay in the colour scheme as the pleats are already an eye-catcher and also make sure that the top is not too wide fitted as it can possibly make you look bigger than you really are. But if you don't mind, also try a wide-fit knitted jumper.
I hope this helped!
