Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life!

In the past six months I've realised more than ever how important positivity in life is. Simply getting up in the morning on a good note with positive thoughts can make your whole day a lot better. It's in people's nature to complain a lot, especially in european countries because we're spoilt, but it doesn't get us anywhere. I'm trying to stay away from any trouble, arguments or negativity to keep my mind on track. I keep telling myself that I don't need negativity in my life and it's almost religious for me now. I rarely get into arguments, fights or anything else that's not based on a positive note. Accept what you can't change and move on with life the best way possible. Not everything is always going well but to keep the head up and thinking positive will turn around the situation. They can change to something better when you approach them in a good mindset, no matter how bad they are. People mistake the roots of happiness sometimes and rely on other people. You can't sit there and wait for friends, family or the partner to make you happy if you're not happy with yourself in the first place. They're an addition to your life, to your own happiness, they're not your happiness.

Life is about making the best out of it, try to be the version of yourself and learn from your own and other people's mistakes. But most importantly, keep praying. Prayers will become reality if you just have faith.
On that note, have a great weekend everyone!

DIY Denim Choker

Cut it, cut it, cut it, cut it.. Your price is way to high you need to cut it! I've officially jumped on the choker hype - sorry not sorry! Chokers just look cute and they go with basically every outfit. There were a lot of critics about Kim K and her denim choker recently saying that - how people said - it looked like she just cut an old pair of jeans and call it choker. Why not though? I'm not a big fan of hers but people just need to stop hating for no reason, lol. I think it's a great idea and that's why I tried it myself. We don't always have to spend loads of money to buy new stuff, just recycle your old pair of jeans that you don't wear anymore and use it for something creative like this. To be honest, I rarely have these creative phases where I wanna make something myself but this is just easy to make for a not really handy person like me.
When I had the idea last night, I was actually clearing out my wardrobe to give some stuff to charity and I found these old pair of jeans from 4 years ago that I don't wear anymore... or rather don't fit in anymore, oopsi...! Anyways, while I was cutting my jeans, I was so determined to make it look pretty just like a little kid drawing a painting for mommy, lol. I was even a little proud when I finished and then I thought, let me dig in my untidy draws and find some old accessories to pimp this choker... and my search was successful! See the results below!
Oh, I added the material and instructions you need below as well! Have fun!

Material:

Old pair of jeans
Tape measure
Pen
Scissors
Accessories

Instructions:

- Measure & Draw -
Have a tape measure or anything that'll help drawing a straight line where you want to cut

- Cut it -
Cut a a string off your pair of jeans.
Make sure it is the size you want it to be and try to cut as straight as possible.
Don't cut it too close from the ankle part as it might be too tight for your neck.

- Fringe it out -
I just used my hands but you can also use a brush for it.

- Divide it -
Cut it in the back to be able to adjust it perfectly to your neck.

- Add accessories -
Add a silk ribbon, an old ring or any little pendant you can find.

DONE!

Life Balance

You weren't summer ready this year? Don't worry, I wasn't either. Being comfortable in your body is a challenge these days as people tend to look at Instagram and Photoshopped models and think that's how we're supposed to look like. We're not because no one actually looks like a Photoshopped person but you have to be comfortable in your body. Obviously most of the people are trying to keep themselves fit but sometimes it is just harder than it seems. Ever since I moved to London, I gained a good few pounds, not even gonna lie, I feel uncomfortable in my own body. New city, new friends, trying out new restaurants.. This all sounds great but not to forget about the stress that comes with it and I'm a person who eats, when I'm stressed. Well, you get to the point where you just wanna hit the gym and do something about it, but what's stopping you? Laziness? Better things to do? Enjoying food too much? As simple as it sounds, if you're not comfortable in your body, do something about it. Go to the gym, change your eating habits and get started on that fitness journey. Getting fit doesn't mean you have to turn your life upside down but a few adjustments will help and get you where you want to be. It's all about balancing work and life and if you want, you'll make time to have a gym session before or after work. If you think you can't do it alone, you can! If you have a gym buddy, even better, but it's not a must. This is your body, your goal and you alone have to focus on it. I'm telling you, it's hard! Especially when you're tired after work and you just wanna have a tea and get into bed and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like that but you just gotta make it work for yourself, for your goals and for being comfortable in your body.
Don't let magazine models get to you, no one ever said you have to look like them. A few pounds more on your hips won't hurt anyone and you probably slay those curves anyways, just make sure that you're comfortable in you skin, that's all that matters.

On that note, I'm off to the gym now!

Oh before I forget, I haven't said anything about my outfit yet, lol. I'm LOVING my camo jacket and I can't live without it anymore. It just fits to all my simple skirts and dresses and turns my boring outfit into a very stylish one. Btw, loving how Patricia Bright rocks her camo jacket with an all white outfit here!
This time I've worn an all khaki look with a figure hugging midi vest dress and the camo jacket as an off shoulder jacket paired with some comfortable sandals and a simple clutch. Very simple outfit but the jacket is still a highlight! I'm totally into the off shoulder look, especially with shirts or jackets because it gives a little extra to every outfit & I added golden accessories to give the outfit a little glam.

I hope you guys like it! I linked the outfit details below.

Dashiki Season

I've got my hands on one of these amazing Dashikis from BLVCKCashmere x KwasheRETRO and I'm loving it! This is my very first one and african prints for the summer are just a must. Dashikis are originally from West Africa but also worn in other countries. There are many different types and colours and they were mostly worn by men, which has changed though. It has become a fashion piece over the years for everyone to add to their wardrobe.

I'm wearing it in a different style than people usually do to mix it up and adjust it to my style. I basically just tucked it in my midi skirt, put on some heels and I was ready to go! This is really an outfit you can wear to any occasion that doesn't require formal wear as in a suit and you'll have all eyes on you. I love wearing bright colours and this is a real statement piece! Four Summer Essentials

Finally the heatwave has reached London and we're spending the weekends soaking up in the sun, enjoying BBQ's, rooftop bars and warm summer nights... Light dresses, short skirts, sandals & sunnies... That's music in my ears! As nice as this sounds, we still have to go to work during the week and don't see much sun. It's quite a challenge to find something to wear in summer that's light and comfortable but still won't get you a cold when getting into the air-conditioned office or shopping mall. Happens to me all the time that's why I'm literally sitting here right now writing this post while having the flu.. and it's like 22 degrees outside. Oh well!

As my followers know, I love midi dresses and I had to get this one because I loved the stripes and front lace up at the same time. Makes it a perfect comfortable dress! I didn't know what to wear with it, I didn't wanna go all "naked" at the top so I tried on some jackets but really, it's too warm for a proper jacket but having the cold I couldn't risk leaving the house without throwing something on. So my off shoulder denim shirt fell into my hands while browsing through my wardrobe that needs an urgent clean up, lol, and it was the perfect fit. This outfit is all about being comfortable, which makes it easy for me to decide on trainers. Haven't worn my new white ones much, so it was about time. This is a casual outfit you can wear anywhere during the day and if your job allows casual wear, then even at the office.

Besides the outfit post, I have listed 4 summer essentials for you guys below and regardless of what style you have, there are plenty of variations out here!

Denim Shirt

A denim shirt is a MUST-HAVE this season and you barley see anyone out here not owning at least one of them. If worn casual as a proper shirt, a light cardigan or just tied around your hips, it completes every casual look.

Stripes, Stripes, Stripes

Have you entered any shops lately or browsed through clothes online? Exactly, stripes are literally everywhere and I'm loving the comeback! Striped dress striped top, striped jacket, striped pants.. everything striped! In combination or as a single piece, you can't go wrong with it.

White Trainers

Oh yes, white trainers! And I know what you're thinking now... They get dirty so quickly - and you know what, I can't even deny it. I've worn mine twice and already had to clean them. But white trainers are just a summer essential especially when you're looking for something comfy as opposed to flat sandals. White fits with everything and is just a summery colour.

Anything Marble

The trend marble has not only had its comeback in interior design, it's big in fashion as well. It's just so classy, I don't even have other words for it. You'll find many different clothing pieces and accessories out here in marble and I'm sure you'll find your personal statement piece.

I hope this helped! Stay tuned for my next post!
