Denim x Perspex

Looking at my Social Media feeds it is barely not to notice that I basically sleep in this denim jacket, lol. Not literally but I don't even know how I lived without it. It's been all about denim but I promise, this is the last post about it for now. I've shown you guys loads of variations now on how to wear a denim jacket but this one is my favourite. As simple as this outfit is, as special it is! A half leg jumpsuit is the best to wear to in this transition time from summer to autumn, you won't be too warm and not too cold and you can mix it up with trainers, sandals or heels and wear different jackets just like a denim jacket, bomber or leather jacket on top... or even a sweater for more casual days. There's not much more description needed, sometimes you just need an outfit to speak for itself, so I'll just state where I got the pieces from and get you guys to be inspired!
Just a little info, if you would like to order the perspex heels from Public Desire, make sure to buy one size up!

Before I finish this post, I would like to take the opportunity and thank all my followers and readers for showing so much love and support. It means a lot to me and I hope I'll keep on inspiring you!

Celebrating Culture in African Time

Guilty! I know it's been a while guys...πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ December is just such a busy month, probably for everyone. Christmas parties, gatherings with friends and on top of that it was my birthday. Anyways, I got an amazing collaboration for you guys with Mr. Syno Watches owned by a good friend. He recently launched the first watches back in July and I love the idea of African textiles inspired watches! When you go to the website, definitely check out the "about us" section explaining what culture means to him.

"The watches are driven by the fascination of the beauty and aesthetics of these African textiles and the cultural significance they hold."

What I personally like the most is that the watches are named after big cities in Africa. Mine is called "Harare". If you've been following me for a year now (wow, time is flying!), I visited Zimbabwe last year December/ January and I had the most amazing time.
If you like them just as much as I do, go to the website and find your city or the city you can relate to!
I also got 10% off your purchase with the discount code WATCH10OFF. (valid until 31st Jan 2017)
Happy Shopping!

Coming to my outfit, as the watch is very colourful, I tried to keep my clothing in natural colours to match and to make the watch stand out more. Lace up is really everywhere right now and I came across this super comfy dress from Missguided, which is not only comfy but also very affordable. You guys already know that midi dresses are my favourite so I don't even have to go there, lol. Threw on my ripped denim jacket, which basically matches with everything. Let me not even pretend I wasn't freezing when shooting this outfit but I felt like that this was the perfect matchπŸ˜† Anyways, you can style the dress with boots or trainers and a coat or shearling jacket as well for these cold times now.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and leave a comment how you like the watches!

P.S. The reason why I love and support African culture a lot, is for you to find out in one of my next posts. This is gonna be a very interesting one!

Weekend Getaway: Marbella

This weekend break was much needed, and this special reunion even more! My friend and I went to visit a friend who recently moved to Marbella... It was very exciting to see these two again after quite a while and the location made the reunion perfect! Marbella is BEAUTIFUL!😍 All the flower decorated and colourful houses, the little alley ways, the beach and the mountains in the same place and not to forget the weather! When I feel sun on my skin, that's really all I need. At some point in my life I'll move to a country where winter is a minimum of 10 degrees, lol. I won't accept anything colder than that, haha. It was just a short weekend trip but it was well worth it. If you're looking for a short time-out, go for it! Honestly, you can get some really cheap offers on flights if you keep your eyes open or book early enough. Btw, traveling there from London, I felt like everything was so cheap!😳 The food, drinks and even the shops. We hired a little Fiat500 to be more flexible to drive down to Malaga as well for some sightseeing, shopping and try some traditional dishes.πŸš—πŸœπŸ·πŸ‘› We've had a nice paella, tapas and some amazing wine, what else can you wish for? Holidays are really about relaxing and just not thinking about home and work and even if it's only for some days, you'll feel refreshed to start your new week. I encourage everyone who likes to travel to do it as long as you can, no one can take away these experiences from you and traveling makes you overcome fears and grow as a person.πŸ˜ŒπŸ™
To give you guys a little impression of Marbella, I picked some nice pictures, and maybe they inspire you to take your next trip there.🌺

Layers on layers on layers!

My favourite thing to do in winter is layering! That favourite dress of yours that you think you can't wear in winter is now ready to be taken out the wardrobe again girl. Thanks to layering everything is possible! Autumn is a difficult season as you never really know what to wear. Just yesterday I was on the tube wearing my new padded jacket for colder days and it was wayyy too hot. The next day I thought I'm not doing the same mistake twice, so I threw on my good old leather jacket, which is not too warm but still good for this kind of weather. As soon as I left the house I felt cold, lol, typical. It's like leaving your umbrella at home because it hasn't rained for days, and then it suddenly starts raining. Anyways, that's where layering is very helpful - put on one more layer just in case it gets cold and if you're too warm, just take it off.

Here are 3 quick tips for you on how to layer:

1. Style
Choose your favourite style to layer first. It's not it's not only about knits, you can layer a chic blouse with a cardigan, a dress with a sweater or simply a fur gilet that can be thrown over your leather jacket to keep you warm.

2. Texture
What I like the most about layering is the texture of the fabric. There are so many different ones and it keeps the outfit interesting. Make sure that the clothes you want to layer are not heavy knits, it'll make it difficult to layer and still look stylish. Knit layers should be light and easy to throw on.

3. Material
Knitwear is an essential in winter and therefore you shouldn't be stingy about it. Cheap materials can be itchy on your skin, look worn out after the first couple washings and just don't keep you as warm as expected. Invest in knits!

Is it that time of the year again?

Yes it is that time of the year again where seasonal change is starting to get to me and I start panicking because I'm not ready yet. I'm the kind of person you see on the street wearing sandals until the last sun ray is gone and wearing skirts without tights until I get sick for the first time and I will never learn from it. I know, I'm rolling my eyes at myself, lol. Besides not being prepared to let summer go, I haven't even thought about the new autumn trends yet, not to mention giving though to a colour scheme though I can kinda tell what I'm feeling right now. A few weeks ago I sorted out my wardrobe and gave a lot of old stuff that I wasn't even wearing anymore to charity. I actually love how "empty" my wardrobe looks now compared to before and I will try to keep it minimal from now on. (No promises!) So last weekend I decided to research in some trends and do some online shopping for the much needed knitwear and I thought it might be helpful for everyone struggling to get their game on like me, to have a little "get-started-guide".

1. Think about a colour scheme
As much as we want, we can't buy 6 different coats in different colours and on top of that matching clothes for 20 different outfits. Nah! That's not how budgeting works. Try to decide on 2-4 colours you would like to match for the new season and try adapt to it.

2. What are the new trends?
Research on autumn/winter trends and decide which ones you would like to go for and which ones are just not for you. Nothing's wrong with taking out your old knitwear and mix it up with some new items. Be considerate of what you buy and ask yourself if you'll still wear it next season.

3. Choose your favs
It is good to have some main pieces you can just match everything with such as a coat, favourite pants, a jumper, boots and maybe even a dress. Choose your favs and build up your shopping on these key items - it'll be a lot easier for you to find different outfit combinations.

4. Outfit planning
Before you click that "check out" button or run to the till think about your outfits and see if you have something you can wear the items you're about to buy with or else you'll either end up running to the store again to buy more clothes or return items.

I hope this helps to plan your autumn outfits!

Autumn Essentials: Knitwear

The weather has changed dramatically and currently I don't really know what to wear as it's cold in the mornings and gets warm in the afternoon. You basically go from freezing to sweating back to freezing by the time you leave work - typical autumn weather! But  no need to complain and take out your knitwear! Knitwear is probably the my favourite wardrobe essential as it's so versatile and matches with literally everything  and on top of that, you don't have to freeze your bum off, lol. I recently came back from a weekend in Berlin and I well remember that I left London in sandals on a Friday afternoon as it was quite warm, but when I got back on Sunday night, I was wishing for my UGG boots and a parker, lol. I don't even understand how weather changes this quickly here. First thing I did getting in my Uber home was ordering some knits - I think I was in shock at that moment. But this beautiful two-piece was one of the purchases and I'm sharing it with you guys because this is probably the best knit two-piece that I ever had. I must admit, it hurt my bank account a little as it's more expensive than you would'd expect knitwear to be but I'm telling you, it was all worth it! The quality of the material is way better and it feels very soft on my skin even without wearing tights. You can wear it with or without thighs as it keeps you quite warm. Obviously when it gets colder now, it's advisable to wear tights and some nice boots and a lined leather jacket with it or even just throwing a parker over. I paired it with a dusty pink bomber and matching trainers as in my opinion grey goes very well with pink.
More autumn trends are coming up soon, stay tuned!
I will leave the outfit details for you guys below!

Have a great Sunday!
