Yellow Lace Dress || Marbella

I've been wanting to share this dress with you guys for a while now but there just wasn't the right occasion until my spontaneous trip to Marbella last month. The dress came out last year actually and I've been wanting it ever since I saw it but sometimes I just feel like River Island are going a little overboard with their prices, that's why I left it until I saw it on Asos sale some months ago. Yay! I usually buy when I see something as I'm always scared it's gonna be sold out, but I guess patience paid off this time. I can't really remember how much the original price was for this dress but I believe it was around £70 and I bought it for £36 on Asos. Unfortunately, it's sold out now but I linked a similar one below for you guys.

3 Things to do in Córdoba

I know it's been a while but I've just not been feeling like writing blog posts to be honest. Life gets busy and I just couldn't get my head around it. I took a weekend off to get back on track and I feel like it was much needed. I'm back with a travel blog post for you guys though! YAY! I took a trip down to Spain to visit my friend in Marbella and we took a day trip to Córdoba, which is located in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. It's amazing how one single building makes the whole world want to visit this city! Speaking of, let me get started on the 3 things to do in Córdoba:

1. Mezquita in Córdoba 

Visit the mesmerising multiarched Mezquita, which is one of the world's greatest islamic buildings. I wasn't that impressed with the outside of the mosque but as soon as I stepped in, I was impressed with the archtiecture and beautiful detailing all around the walls. It's defnitely worth a trip for every traveler! Córdoba is about 2 1/2 hrs drive from Marbella and quite easy to reach. 

2. El Rincón de Carmen

While walking through the streets of Cordóba, the narrow streets of the Judería (Jewish quater) and Muslim quater, we found this beautifully decorated open space restaurant which serves typical local dishes such as the famous Salmorejo de Cordóba, a creamy cold tomato soup topped with boiled eggs and iberian ham or salty prosciutto (picture below), Rabo de toro and Flamenquín. The food and service was amazing and let me not start on the super cute decoration. I would recommend to anyone to check this little gem out when you visit the city for a typical andalusian experience. 

3. Puente Romano de Cordóba

One of the landmarks in Cordóba is the long bridge right in front of the Mezquita located in the histroric centre. You have a stunning view on the city from the bridge and for all the game of thrones fans, yes, this is the bridge where they filmed part of it. I'm not a fan but everyone seems to be besides me, so I might as well mention it.

2017: Starting off the year right!

Happy New Year everyone! This is the first day of 2017 and my personal first day of 100% positivity going forward! I think it's not only me feeling this way but to me a new years always means tons of motivation, plans and ambition! Positivity just plays much more of a role now than ever - for the upcoming year one of my resolutions is to stay positive, no matter the situation, and surround myself only with like-minded people. We just underestimate how much impact a positive sentence or gesture on someone and it determines peoples attitude. Simple goals like this can turn your life upside down and if you make positivity to your religion, you'll see the results very soon. 
I stayed at the Hilton Hotel Syon Park for NYE and had great conversations with my friend about what we've learnt in 2016 and what we're going to change or do in 2016 and I just thought that I'd share some of them. BTW, the hotel is AMAZING! Everything you wish for, you'll find there and coming home today felt like I've been on holidays yet it's just in London. I had a relaxing and peaceful time.

6 tips on how to start the new year off in full motivation:

1. Set weekly goals
I got myself a weekly calendar from Stradivarius. It has a little section for priorities for the week, notes, dates and you can even rate your week with emojis. I recommend to get one as it has been helping me to stick to my weekly goals and it's just satisfying to be able to tick the to-do list off.

2. Work out
Working out is number one on my list, actually. I have been slacking for the longest time and it's just time to take care of myself and kick off the year feeling good myself. 

3. Eat well
I used to be so good at cooking and then I kinda got used to the whole London lifestyle where people just buy their lunch every day and this needs to stop now! I'm going back to cooking my lunch and I ordered my first Hello Fresh box, which will arrive tomorrow. I just felt like it's time for a change. 
How exciting! 

4. Surround yourself with the right people
I met some fabulous people ever since I moved to London. People who are positive, like-minded, ambitious and just on the same vibe as I am and it's always good to have people to discuss goals, strategies and everything else with. 

5. Pamper yourself
During my stay at the Hilton, I realised that when you work hard, there's nothing wrong with doing you from time to time and if that means a spa weekend with your friend, then totally go for it! Do anything that makes you happy! 

6. Refresh your wardrobe
In my opinion, a new years always calls for a wardrobe refresh. Time to look into your closet and just clean out what you're not gonna wear anymore in the new year. I usually give my clothes to charity as I don't just wanna throw them. It's good to get some new items in especially from the current sales but shop responsibly and don't waste your money on stuff that you'll only wear once or you're not 100% sure about. Weekend Getaway: Marbella

This weekend break was much needed, and this special reunion even more! My friend and I went to visit a friend who recently moved to Marbella... It was very exciting to see these two again after quite a while and the location made the reunion perfect! Marbella is BEAUTIFUL!😍 All the flower decorated and colourful houses, the little alley ways, the beach and the mountains in the same place and not to forget the weather! When I feel sun on my skin, that's really all I need. At some point in my life I'll move to a country where winter is a minimum of 10 degrees, lol. I won't accept anything colder than that, haha. It was just a short weekend trip but it was well worth it. If you're looking for a short time-out, go for it! Honestly, you can get some really cheap offers on flights if you keep your eyes open or book early enough. Btw, traveling there from London, I felt like everything was so cheap!😳 The food, drinks and even the shops. We hired a little Fiat500 to be more flexible to drive down to Malaga as well for some sightseeing, shopping and try some traditional dishes.🚗🍜🍷👛 We've had a nice paella, tapas and some amazing wine, what else can you wish for? Holidays are really about relaxing and just not thinking about home and work and even if it's only for some days, you'll feel refreshed to start your new week. I encourage everyone who likes to travel to do it as long as you can, no one can take away these experiences from you and traveling makes you overcome fears and grow as a person.😌🙏
